Words and language happen to be humanity's attempt at making sense of the universe....

The power of words...

You do not need to be a great reader, writer, or artist to use words - words are floating all around us and in us. Pause for a moment and see if it's possible to not use words. See, they are woven into our very DNA.

Words inspire – think of everything you see visually, every modern invention and past invention, everything you think conscientiously. Words, words, words...they give birth to ideas and ideas give birth to words. Everything that is programmed is done so with language (words) and communication. The human body (DNA) has a genetic code and language, we inherited this language from our ancestors - words are very much woven into the fabric of our beings...

Words have caused wars – every violent action that has been done under the sun was sparked by the use of words, whether written or spoken. Words have caused revolutions, just think of France, America, etc. - it was words that gave rise to this great country…

Words are living in us and amongst us. We embody them and they direct and guide our lives – controlling the ship of our very existence. If we are not careful, words will be the reason why some of us as husbands are sleeping on the couch (pun intended) and some of us lack friends.

Words express our most sacred stories, every culture has stories that express into words (Language) what they, as a people, believe about themselves and their ancestors (history).

Words come from the mouth of poets - think of Shakespeare, T.S. Eliot, and all of The Greats and how they used words that inspired the breadth of humanity - which inspired and spurred on writers, novelists, musicians, etc…

Words are able to bring life while also wounding life… (words hurt – words bring healing). My wife will do this thing, when I am sick she writes me notes or cards - words create and sustain life in the midst of suffering, pain, and loss. Has someone ever told you something really mean? it hurts, right? Words cut deep and should be used wisely - but words also bring reconciliation, peace, and joy.

In our society when someone loses a relative/loved one, we write letters and cards, because words bring healing and restoration in the midst of death.

The world is a wondrous place, from the sky above to the earth below, the mountains and seas do not ask for our attention but as humans we use words to express the inexpressible. Words are powerful, right? I'd recommend sitting out in nature with a pen and pad, write and describe what you see - inspiration is all around you.

Some words should be blacked out ______________________ of our lives and mind.....

Words are used in the songs we enjoy. There are many inspiring tunes that lift us from the rat race of life - some of the artist that inspire me are: Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash,Tommy Petty, and Jon Foreman. _______ you can list your favorites….

There are a variety of ways you can express to the people you love - using words - try it…

One of the most beautiful stories ever told in the history of the world is the story about Jesus Christ - John’s gospel opens up with Jesus (God) becoming the spoken verbal communicative word of God.

When you speak, think about the words you choose, remember using words creates every situation you find yourself in. Find ways of building up the folks around you. Speak life into them, bring living water into their thirsty souls…

How will you choose to use words effectively in an age when words are a dime a dozen?

Can you share something encouraging and uplifting for us to read?
